This sequence is a reference standard in the RefSeqGene project. On Oct 27, 2006 this sequence version replaced gi:18105015. Summary: This gene encodes the subunit of a collagen-like molecule associated with acetylcholinesterase in skeletal muscle. Each molecule is composed of three identical subunits. Each subunit contains a proline-rich attachment domain (PRAD) that binds an acetylcholinesterase tetramer to anchor the catalytic subunit of the enzyme to the basal lamina. Mutations in this gene are associated with endplate acetylcholinesterase deficiency. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]. Transcript Variant: This variant (I) encodes the longest protein. Publication Note: This RefSeq record includes a subset of the publications that are available for this gene. Please see the Gene record to access additional publications. ##Evidence-Data-START## Transcript exon combination :: AF057036.1, AK289688.1 [ECO:0000332] RNAseq introns :: mixed/partial sample support ERS025082, ERS025083 [ECO:0000350] ##Evidence-Data-END## COMPLETENESS: full length.
