COMMENT REVIEWED REFSEQ: This record has been curated by NCBI staff. The
reference sequence was derived from BU849493.1, BC001050.2,
AC020978.10 and CA418693.1.
This sequence is a reference standard in the RefSeqGene project.
On Nov 20, 2010 this sequence version replaced gi:27886560.
Summary: The product of this gene is a member of the nuclear
factors of activated T cells DNA-binding transcription complex.
This complex consists of at least two components: a preexisting
cytosolic component that translocates to the nucleus upon T cell
receptor (TCR) stimulation and an inducible nuclear component.
Other members of this family participate to form this complex also.
The product of this gene plays a role in the regulation of gene
expression in T cells and immature thymocytes. Several transcript
variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this
gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2010].
Transcript Variant: This variant (1) encodes the longest isoform
(1).
Sequence Note: This RefSeq record was created from transcript and
genomic sequence data to make the sequence consistent with the
reference genome assembly. The genomic coordinates used for the
transcript record were based on transcript alignments.
Publication Note: This RefSeq record includes a subset of the
publications that are available for this gene. Please see the Gene
record to access additional publications.
