COMMENT REVIEWED REFSEQ: This record has been curated by NCBI staff. The
reference sequence was derived from AC026405.5 and DA785554.1.

Summary: This gene encodes a member of the kelch-related family of
actin-binding proteins. The encoded protein plays a role in the
oxidative stress response as a regulator of the transcription
factor Nrf2, and expression of this gene may play a role in
malignant transformation. Alternatively spliced transcript variants
encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene.
            [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2012].

Transcript Variant: This variant (5) is represented as non-coding
because it lacks the coding exon found in variant 1.

Sequence Note: This RefSeq record was created from transcript and
genomic sequence data to make the sequence consistent with the
reference genome assembly. The genomic coordinates used for the
transcript record were based on transcript alignments.

publications that are available for this gene. Please see the Gene
            record to access additional publications.
