TITLE Initial assessment of human gene diversity and expression patterns based upon 83 million nucleotides of cDNA sequence JOURNAL Nature 377 (6547 SUPPL), 3-174 (1995) PUBMED 7566098 COMMENT REVIEWED REFSEQ: This record has been curated by NCBI staff. The reference sequence was derived from AA318398.1, AF169159.1, AC010458.6, AC010330.7 and BU734136.1. On Apr 22, 2011 this sequence version replaced gi:21536280. Summary: The product of this gene belongs to a subfamily of calcium binding proteins, which share similarity to calmodulin. Calcium binding proteins are an important component of calcium mediated cellular signal transduction. Expression of this gene is retina-specific. The mouse homolog of this protein has been shown to express in the inner nuclear layer of the retina, suggested its role in neuronal functioning. The specific function of this gene is unknown. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2009]. Sequence Note: This RefSeq record was created from transcript and genomic sequence data to make the sequence consistent with the reference genome assembly. The genomic coordinates used for the transcript record were based on transcript alignments. ##Evidence-Data-START## Transcript exon combination :: AF169159.1, BC126135.1 [ECO:0000332] RNAseq introns :: single sample supports all introns ERS025088 [ECO:0000348] ##Evidence-Data-END## COMPLETENESS: complete on the 3' end.
