COMMENT REVIEWED REFSEQ: This record has been curated by NCBI staff. The
reference sequence was derived from DC407297.1, BT019729.1 and
            AK225522.1.
This sequence is a reference standard in the RefSeqGene project.

Summary: This gene encodes a serine/threonine-protein kinase that
is involved in mitotic regulation. This protein is localized to the
centrosome, and undetectable during G1 phase, but accumulates
progressively throughout the S phase, reaching maximal levels in
late G2 phase. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding
different isoforms with distinct C-termini have been noted for this
gene. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2011].

Transcript Variant: This variant (3) contains an alternate 3'
terminal exon compared to variant 1. This results in a frame-shift
and a shorter isoform (3) with a distinct C-terminus compared to
            isoform 1.

Publication Note: This RefSeq record includes a subset of the
publications that are available for this gene. Please see the Gene
            record to access additional publications.
