COMMENT REVIEWED REFSEQ: This record has been curated by NCBI staff. The
reference sequence was derived from DB141938.1, BC001744.1,
            AK127242.1, AA001621.1 and DA938384.1.
This sequence is a reference standard in the RefSeqGene project.
On Sep 10, 2010 this sequence version replaced gi:196114998.

Summary: This gene encodes a matrix protein which binds nuclear
matrix and scaffold-associating DNAs through a unique nuclear
architecture. The protein recruits chromatin-remodeling factors in
order to regulate chromatin structure and gene expression. Multiple
transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for
this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2010].

Transcript Variant: This variant (2) differs in the 5' UTR and
lacks an alternate exon in the 3' coding region, compared to
variant 3. Isoform 1 has a shorter C-terminus, compared to isoform
            2.

Publication Note: This RefSeq record includes a subset of the
publications that are available for this gene. Please see the Gene
            record to access additional publications.
