COMMENT REVIEWED REFSEQ: This record has been curated by NCBI staff. The
reference sequence was derived from BC070256.1 and V00543.1.
This sequence is a reference standard in the RefSeqGene project.
On Dec 22, 2004 this sequence version replaced gi:10835170.

Summary: This gene encodes a member of the type II interferon
family. The protein encoded is a soluble cytokine with antiviral,
immunoregulatory and anti-tumor properties and is a potent
activator of macrophages. Mutations in this gene are associated
with aplastic anemia.[provided by RefSeq, Nov 2009].

publications that are available for this gene. Please see the Gene
